đź’ˇ Anywhere you're asked for a bio...

A reader replied to yesterday’s email that the “POV-first Intro” I shared helped him write his website’s About Me page.

And he’s right to use it that way!

Let’s face it - we all have unique backgrounds. But at the end of the day, most bio pages blend together. (Especially those written by GenAI 🙂 )

Instead of trying to stuff your entire career into a couple hundred words, leading with your signature POV can be instrumental in cutting through the noise.

Why? Because it heightens relevance by focusing on your ideal client’s problem, not on you.

If folks are really interested in where you went to college or your early career path, there’s an entire social network dedicated to that.

To recap the POV-first Intro formula:

  1. High-level positioning statement (I help xx do yy.)
  2. Signature POV (My practice is founded on the idea that…)
  3. Evidence of problem (My time at xx showed me yy)
  4. Preview a better way (But xx is possible)
  5. Mission + Close (So, I’m on a mission to help [target customer] [benefit of your signature service])

Once you have this sorted, it becomes a crisp introduction you can use everywhere:

  • Podcast intros
  • About page on website and LinkedIn
  • In-person networking events
  • Workshops & webinars
  • “Elevator speeches”
  • Cocktail parties? Weddings?…

P.S. Missing some pieces of this structure, or stuck on your signature POV?
