So, you know how all the World Cup host cities are aggressively squeezing in construction and beautification projects ahead of the big event?

Here in Seattle, it’s meant new light rail service, airport terminals, waterfront parks and shuttles, accepting tap-to-pay on transit (yes, we were way behind!)

Many of these projects had been planned (and delayed) well before FIFA came into the picture, but with a big spotlight headed our way in a couple weeks, everything accelerated and it’s starting to look really slick around here.

That’s how the past couple of months have been feeling for my business as well.

In preparing for a high-reach workshop at the Lettuce Solo Summit a couple weeks ago, I similarly used the opportunity to get several other things in sparkly shape — some of which had been long overdue.

That meant significant work on the workshop itself, the IRIS AI tool, a soft rebrand, refined 1:1 packages, a new welcome series for The Lightbulb, etc. etc.

Oh, and, you know, actual client work on top of all of this.

What became clear amid these upgrades was that while my umbrella has continued to sharpen — easing the post-corporate transition into solo consulting — my project footprint has both expanded and deepened, far outgrowing the website I started cobbling together three years ago.
