đź’ˇ "Should've bought the FastPass..."

Think about the last time you waited for a table at a popular restaurant.

Flustered with impatience, you tell yourself, “I should’ve made a reservation.”

Or, stuck in a long security line, you think, “I should’ve signed up for PreCheck.”

Or, spending hours in line at a theme park, you start wondering, “Maybe that FastPass was worth it…”

Now, these are mild inconveniences, not dire situations.

Still, remember what you felt:

  • Trapped in an unfavorable context
  • Lost in a sea of many
  • Frustrated with the process
  • Longing for a different path
  • Questioning your choices
  • Regretting your lack of forward-thinking

These feelings may feel familiar in today’s professional climate as well.

The talent market (corporate & independent) is flooded, and seemingly every opportunity has a giant pool of well-qualified people waiting to be considered.

So, if I told you there was a “FastPass” for conversations with prospective clients, would you take it?

What if I told you you already have it, you just haven’t activated it?

The FastPass out of a talent pool is, of course, differentiation.

But what can you differentiate on?

  • Your 1st and 2nd order contacts?
    • ❌ Good start, but not a sustainable tool
  • Your resume and experience?
    • ❌ In a large enough pool, all experience is commoditized
  • Your unique insights on the problem space?
    • 🔆 A-ha! Now we’re getting somewhere
  • Your unique insights synthesized into a relevant and easily digestible POV?
    • âś… Bingo. This is your FastPass. This is your IP.

This doesn’t have to be complicated. Your IP could be a thoughtful visual, a novel framework, or maybe a short white paper.

But if even that seems overwhelming, remember those feelings of being trapped in a queue.

Now consider the relief of not having to do that again.
