So you’ve found an urgent pain point. You have an idea of the relief you could bring. Now, what would it look like to provide that relief repeatedly? A standardized process you could apply even without any client context. ​ If you have some IP developed from your experience, e.g. a framework breaking down the common problem into pieces, that could provide a roadmap. ​ But even without that… Even if you’ve never sold consulting work before… You likely already have a good sense of the path you’d take. ​ Write out a 5-step process of what you’d do for the client to relieve the pain. 5 steps - no more, no less. 1 bullet per step. This shouldn’t take long. ​ If it’s helpful, assign a timeframe to it: Is this a 5-week service? What would you do each week? 5-month engagement? What would be the objective for each month? ​ That's it. This is the skeleton of your service.
