💡 The next baby step: a service hypothesis

Did you jot down your 5-step process?

Was it easy? Hard?

Did it make you rethink the problem your solving?

Or perhaps the type of client you’d like to serve?

Or perhaps how long a project would realistically take you?

Or maybe, did you think “who the hell would even pay for this?”

If the exercise prompted any of these thoughts, you’re on the right track.

The important thing is you’re getting a rough working hypothesis of a service out of your head and on paper for you to play around with.

To make this more real for you, take 5 minutes to transfer your thoughts so far in this free template. (Make a copy before you start — this is for your eyes only.)

As you’re filling it out, keep it brief.

The objective here is that someone else should be able to read this in under a minute and have a good idea of what you’re imagining.

It's ok to leave things blank - this will be a continued work in progress.

Note: This is a good exercise for anyone—whether you’re just starting out or considering adding a new or revised service to your portfolio.

Tomorrow, we’ll touch on how to validate this with [gasp!] real people in your ICP.

If you have questions or are feeling stuck, hit 'reply' and include a link to your worksheet. I'd be happy to take a look.
