Have you ever seen one of those solo protesters outside of an arena, nightlife area, or crowded tourist spot? You know the one. Typically male and armed with a loudspeaker and an unsettling message, he stands on a street corner spouting his views to anyone passing by. Now, the 'barker', as they're known, has his own reasons or calling to do what he does. But let’s face it, his execution is sloppy. Here he has, if nothing else, an extremely strong POV. One he’s literally able to stand and shout about on the street. The kind of clarity, conviction, and outright gall you and I can only dream of. But, he’s missing the other side of the equation. By being indiscriminate about who he’s talking to, it’s no surprise the engagement he receives in response ranges from apathy, to annoyance, to anger. If what you’re looking for is connection with your potential client. To share your view on their problem. To offer them a glimmer of relief in a solution. To establish trust. The equation has to be balanced between the ‘who’ and the ‘what’. The barker has the ‘what’, but lacks the ‘who’. And turns out, you have to figure out the ‘who’ in order to refine your ‘what’. ______ Need to find your ‘who’? I have just a handful of spots open in my NicheFinder pilot. It’s a 3-session, done-with you 1:1 sprint designed for soloists who can’t currently answer the question: “Who do I serve, and how?” Sound like you? Drop me a quick “Sprint details, please” in a reply, and I’ll send the info right over. Individual kickoffs start as early as next week. 💡 -Wes |
