đź’ˇ Value, not scarcity, is the goal


To pin the scarcity conversation, it’s important to remember that scarcity itself is not the goal.

Scarcity is a lever you can use to influence your value as an independent consultant.

It’s not the only lever — for example, in many cases, your value is influenced by the bottom-line impact you can unlock for a client.

But scarcity is one value lever that’s very much in your control.

  • Most importantly, you build your singularity through your insights, IP, and track record so that people want to work with you and only you.
  • Then, you choose how much you’d like to be available.
