đź’ˇ New cadence for The Lightbulb!


Just a quick update on cadence.

TLDR: Starting tomorrow, I’m shifting The Lightbulb to 5x/week.

Some rationale for those interested:

From my reader survey in October, I heard some lovely feedback like:

  • “I look forward to this email every day.”
  • “I look forward to every email.”
  • “Daily is good.”

Mixed in with:

  • “Every day is a lot.”
  • “I can’t keep up every day, so maybe an occasional summary.”
  • “Take the weekends off. 5 days is way generous enough.”

Now, daily has always been an intentional choice.

Designed to create a symbiotic rhythm based on short, snackable content.

That said, what I've learned over 250+ posts is that it consistently takes me ~an hour a day to meet the quality bar I believe makes it worthwhile for you to open my đź’ˇ's and spend a minute or two with me each day.

Sure, I could push out something lighter a few days a week to lessen my load and keep the 7-day cadence.

But all else equal, I’d rather keep the insights deep and the quality bar high.

So, Mondays-Fridays, expect the same type of insights, mini-series, and original frameworks.

Saturdays and Sundays, catch up or take a rest.

And on occasion, I’ll put out a weekend send for things like:

  • Spillover or conclusion of a framework or series
  • Time-sensitive insights (like yesterday’s about the LA fires)
  • 60-second tool reviews (e.g. #218 đź’ˇ Napkin.ai)
  • Longer-form pieces that fit better as a weekend read

On my side, I’ll be using those reclaimed ~10 hours/month (my time dividend!) to invest in developing new workshops, services, and tools for solo consultants that I’m excited to share soon.
